Karen Chorney was born & raised on a farm in northern Alberta, Canada. She is a self-taught artist and specializes in equine portraiture & equestrian lifestyle paintings. She currently works in digital, graphite and oil mediums.
Last year she held her first solo shows at Rocky Mountain Show Jumping in Calgary, AB in partnership with the Calgary and Area Alberta Dressage Association. Additionally, Spruce Meadows selected one of her Limited Edition pieces to display at their facility for their special 40th Anniversary Celebrations during the 2015 tournament season.
In March of 2016, one of Chorney’s paintings, “Bold As Brash” was presented to Scott Brash by horsescotland in a special award ceremony celebrating his amazing Grand Slam win.
Karen currently lives near Calgary, Alberta with her husband, Dean, where she raises and trains Welsh & British Riding Ponies.
